"Euro Currency Trust" is the first currency ETF which have been introduced in 2005 by Rydex Investments. The Euro Currency Trust has been traded on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) under the FXE ticker since then. From that time a series of funds tracking all major currencies have been lunched by Rydex under their brand CurrencyShares. In Europe, the first currency ETF (ONIA Total Return Index ETF in Frankfurt) was introduced in 2007 by Deutsche Bank's db x-trackers and was constructed to track euro performance. Later in 2008 the Sterling Money Market ETF (XGBP) and US Dollar Money Market ETF ( XUSD) were introduced in London on LSE (London Stock Exchange).
