Broke: A person acting as an agent for making securities transactions. An 'Account Executive' or a 'broker' at a brokerage firm deals directly with customers. A 'Floor Broker' on the trading floor of an exchange actually executes someone else's trading orders.

Discount Brokers: Brokerage firms that offer lower commission rates than full service brokers, but do not offer services such as advice, research and portfolio planning.

Floor Broker: A broker on the exchange floor who executes the orders of public customers or other investors who do not have physical access to the trading area. It is a trader on an exchange floor who executes trading orders for other people.
